Peace Fully Restored in Rivers as Governor Fubara Engages with President Tinubu

Abuja: Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers has announced that peace has fully returned to the state, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to maintain stability for the benefit of the populace. Fubara articulated these sentiments during an interview with State House correspondents following a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Fubara described his visit to the President as essential due to his recent assumption of responsibilities after a six-month emergency rule in Rivers State. The governor expressed his intention to inform President Tinubu about his resumption of duties following the lifting of the suspension on September 17.

Governor Fubara highlighted that the meeting with President Tinubu served as an opportunity to seek advice and ensure that future political turmoil is avoided. He characterized the interaction as a “father-son discussion,” aimed at expressing gratitude and seeking presidential guidance in case any issues arise that could potentially lead to a crisis.

Additionally, Fubara declared the resolution of a political disagreement with his predecessor, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, marking an end to the past political feud.
