Abuja: The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Nigerians for their understanding and support to the President Bola Tinubu-led administration in the last two years. Mr. Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, made the commendation on behalf of the party while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on the midterm anniversary of the Tinubu-led administration.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Morka noted that the country was on a progressive path under Tinubu, emphasizing the need for continued support and understanding from the citizens. He stated, “We applaud Nigerians for their invaluable understanding and support so far and we crave their continued support to Mr President for the second half of the tenure and beyond.”
Morka highlighted that in the face of generational challenges, Tinubu’s administration had demonstrated political will. He compared Tinubu to a confident surgeon enacting policy reforms designed to rejuvenate the nation’s wellness.
The APC leadership, Morka stated, is aware of the challenges stemming from the necessary policy reforms taken in the interest of all. He affirmed that the well-being of current and future generations remains central to Tinubu’s governance. Some key reforms include the removal of fuel subsidies and harmonizing multiple exchange rates.
Morka remarked on the administration’s achievements at midterm, citing a rebounding economy and a newfound optimism. The relentless campaign against oil theft has boosted oil production, surpassing OPEC’s quota for the first time in recent history.
The massive reforms and investments in oil and gas sectors, amounting to over 8 billion dollars, have improved business conditions, revitalized the stock market, and attracted Foreign Direct Investments exceeding 50 billion dollars. Morka also highlighted consecutive quarterly trade surpluses since 2023 and a historic GDP growth of 3.38 percent in Q4 of 2024.
In terms of security, the administration’s efforts against terrorism and banditry have led to the neutralization of over 13,500 terrorists and the arrest of nearly 18,000. These efforts have facilitated the closure of IDP camps and a return to farmlands, contributing to a decrease in food prices.
Morka also noted progress in education, health, and infrastructure. In the health sector, strategic policies have been approved, and over N80 billion has been disbursed to revitalize primary healthcare centers across the nation.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to continue supporting the administration, emphasizing Tinubu’s determination to serve better in the remaining half of his tenure.
