Ilorin: Members of the National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) in Kwara, led by their Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi, attended the wake of the late former governor of the state, Chief Cornelius Adebayo. The solemn event was held at the Kwara State Banquet Hall in Ilorin, attracting dignitaries who came to celebrate the life and contributions of the late elder statesman.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Akanbi paid tribute to Adebayo, highlighting his role as a leader, statesman, and advocate for peace. Adebayo’s contributions to governance and education have left a significant impact on the state and the nation. Akanbi emphasized that Adebayo’s life was a model of integrity, service, and commitment, inspiring future generations of leaders and journalists.
Akanbi further described the former governor as a bridge-builder and principled individual who consistently promoted unity and development during his public service tenure. Other veteran journalists who attended the ceremony offered their condolences to the Adebayo family and prayed for his peaceful repose.
