Abuja: Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Volleyball Club and Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers finished in 10th and 11th positions respectively at the ongoing 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two teams, who represented Nigeria in the championship, played their respective classification matches on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, in the 9th to 10th classification match, Nigeria Customs Service lost to Police Volleyball Club (PVC) of Rwanda 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 20-25, 17-25) despite the support from the home crowd. NCS struggled to make a comeback, losing the first set 23-25. They managed to win the second set 25-19, but Police Volleyball Club of Rwanda dominated the third and fourth sets, winning 25-20 and 25-17.
CNS Spikers secured a victory in the 11th to 12th classification match against Volleyball Club La Loi of the Democratic Republic of Congo, winning 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 15-12).
In other classification matches, Litto Team Volleyball (LTV) of Cameroon beat Armee Patriotique Rwandaise 3-1 (25-21, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23) to secure 7th place, while Mayo Kani Evolution (CAM) defeated Omnisports Descartes (CIV) 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-10) to finish 13th in the championship.
The championship, which began on April 1, will conclude on April 14.
