Abuja: The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has praised the performance of President Bola Tinubu in the FCT over the past two years, describing it as unprecedented. Wike expressed his satisfaction following an inspection of several ongoing projects in the area, which are set to be inaugurated in celebration of Tinubu’s second anniversary.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike expressed his happiness with the achievements recorded by Tinubu, especially concerning the FCT. He noted that such accomplishments had never been witnessed before in the region. Wike highlighted that Tinubu’s efforts have resonated across the country, prompting calls from Nigerians for him to be given another opportunity to serve.
Wike emphasized that Tinubu’s achievements in the FCT are unmatched and predicted further advancements in the coming years. He mentioned that critics who previously doubted the functionality of Abuja are now acknowledging its progress and attributing the success to President Tinubu.
The minister also stated his commitment to transforming Abuja into a capital city that all Nigerians would be proud of, as per the assignment given by Tinubu. During the project inspection, Wike ensured that contractors were on track to deliver as promised. He expressed particular satisfaction with the completion of the Apo to Wassa Junction Road, a significant infrastructure project.
Wike further detailed plans for the road to include streetlights to enhance security, with the contractor CGC having already submitted a proposal. Additionally, he inspected the N20 Interchange project and the access road from Obafemi Awolowo Way to the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, all slated for completion and inauguration.
In his remarks, Wike reiterated that Abuja residents deserve the best, and he assured them of the contractors’ diligent efforts. He affirmed his commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and noted Tinubu’s insistence on providing Nigeria with the best possible developments.
Lastly, Wike called upon FCT residents to fulfill their obligations and support the administration for the benefit of Abuja and the entire nation.
