Four Nigerian Entrepreneurs on 2025 Forbes Billionaires List Highlight Economic Growth

Lagos: The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has expressed its pride in the inclusion of four Nigerian entrepreneurs on the 2025 Forbes list of Africa’s 22 wealthiest individuals, viewing it as a testament to the country’s economic growth and prosperity.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Emeka Nwankpa, Chairman of TMSG, emphasized the significance of Aliko Dangote’s success, attributing his retention as Africa’s richest man to the Dangote Refinery. Nwankpa noted that the wealth of these entrepreneurs was largely generated and sustained within Nigeria, highlighting the achievements of Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Rabiu, and Femi Otedola on the Forbes list, which also features seven South African nationals.

Nwankpa pointed out that Dangote has maintained his status as Africa’s richest person for 14 consecutive years, thanks to a significant increase in his net worth from 13.9 billion dollars to 23.9 billion dollars in 2024, a rise attributed to the valuation of the Dangote Refinery in Forbes’ calculations. Nwankpa expressed optimism that Abdulsamad Rabiu’s ranking could improve with the completion of the BUA Refinery in Uyo, while praising Mike Adenuga’s ranking as the fifth richest in Africa due to his telecom ventures and Femi Otedola’s active business diversification.

The TMSG chairman highlighted that the wealth of these billionaires grew by at least 25 percent during the first 22 months of the Tinubu administration, interpreting this growth as evidence of the abundant opportunities in Nigeria. He dismissed negative economic forecasts from opposition elements, asserting that foreign investors are increasingly drawn to the country.

Nwankpa concluded with optimism that more Nigerian entrepreneurs with connections to the stock market would appear on future Forbes lists, attributing this potential growth to President Tinubu’s pro-business policies.
